Lao Tzu, a philosopher and poet of ancient China once said, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

Psychotherapy is about being willing to make that step, and having someone equip you with the tools you need to help you make that first step. Life can be challenging and we all at times need someone to help us find our own strength to help us overcome difficult times and situations.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working in the field for over 10 years. My background includes a wide variety of practice settings such as Knox County Detention Facility, Blount Memorial Hospital’s Emotional Health and Recovery Center, and Kindred-Fairpark Healthcare Center.

I have experience in group and individual therapy, crisis management, family therapy, and geriatric case management. I will be taking a holistic, client centered approach to caring for older adults and their caregivers.

Basically that means I will meet you where you are and we will set goals together to help you meet your greatest potential. My services include assessment and monitoring, planning and problem solving, education, advocacy, family caregiver coaching, and individual psychotherapy.

Put simply here are the issues can help you with:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Caregiver stress
  • Grief/Loss
  • Problems coping with frailty or medical conditions
  • Difficulties adjusting to new living environments (assisted living, nursing home, moving in with families)

Currently, I am able to accept the following insurance:

  • Medicare
  • Cigna
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Humana
  • Blue Care
  • WellCare
  • UHC
  • Optum
  • Behavioral Health Systems
  • Medicaid
  • Magellan

I’ll also be happy to work with you to explore out of network benefits, or a payment plan that will help you access services if you’d like to avoid using insurance at all.

First step? Pick up the phone and give me a call. Looking forward to talking to you.
